Sunday 24th Sept

Image
Haven't been to Port Adelaide for ages and then twice in one weekend. Started Sun with a low key fun run there, then we headed to Glenelg to watch some of the Bay to Birdwood go by before a baptism at the Lutheran Church at Immanuel College.  Perfect viewing spot at a coffee shop. The rest of the day was spent gardening and pottering around. Just what I needed. I've done a small corner of the front yard, after tending to the trees out the back (and the compost). I went next door to speak to the neighbours about contributing to the side fence replacement. Found out they are just renting. Tim is beside himself now that they'll move out and take Kitty with them.  I'm wondering what we do when we go away. Usually you ask your neighbours to help you with the mail and pets. Ha, do we have to ask them to look after their own cat whilst we're gone 😉😲. Tim had to do a special Coles run on Sun arvo for more 65c sardines for it.

Composting

On Sat I went to a "home composting" workshop held my Marion Council (Jarrod invited me). We'd started with a black bin at home under the lemon tree, throwing in our scraps, some lawn clippings and horse manure, but even after googling and borrowing a book from the library, we were still unsure if we were doing it right. The workshop was great, got all my questions answered and came home with a free kitchen caddy for the scraps. And found out it is okay to put citris in so Tim's daily grapefruit rind can go in there now. We got our camping chair situation sorted. I tested Tim's fishing chair out so we bought one for me. And a snake bite kit which I hope I never have to open. Tim serviced his car in the arvo and I took Giselle to the Maritime Museum at Port Adelaide. Although when relaying her afternoon back to Marianne the first thing she said was that she went to KFC! It was one noisy house in the evening, with dancing fun with Eloise and Giselle.  Eloise gets so...

City to Bay

Image
Sun was the City to Bay fun run. Tim dropped me in the city on the scooter and then went for a coffee before watching at the bottom of Anzac Hwy.  I had a super run, very happy, just sub 47min and 12th female outright.  After pottering around home we went into church for a New Comers lunch, me as a representative of the Church and Tim as the new comer. Then it was off to collect the trailer from the Hawthornes, pick up some sandstone pavers, home to drop the pacers, then back to drop off the trailer, chores and bed. So excited about the pavers, will be perfect for my outdoor shower and around the pond.  The days are getting longer and the trees are starting to green up. Only a couple of weeks until daylight savings starts. Yippee!! A late late night at work last night (Board meeting and then back in the office until 10pm) blah!  We're trying to decide on what Solar to install and by whom. I knew we hadn't started down this path for a reason, where to start?!?! But I ...

Car Rally

Image
We went to Mt Crawford Sat afternoon to watch the National Car Rally.  Well Tim watched, I googled Solar. It was a stunning Spring day and wonderful to be out in the fresh air. We packed a picnic lunch and the good old thermos of tea.  Lauren and Sadie came round for dinner. They'd been through a horrible week of the whole family sick with the flu. Sadie still wasn't herself, almost alseep at 6.30pm.

Sunday 10th

Sunday I hosted the Henley Runners for a good catch up. Weather was warm so we could open up the back sliding doors and have the porch/back room all blending in. Was a great afternoon and very easy. Megan had been in the U.K. for almost 2 years so the runners were keen to catch up with her.  Tim bought his camping chair and had been testing it out... And sweet little puss curled up in her blanket. If Tim feeds her a sardine so goes bananas! Running around the house. I'm sure it's the sugar in the tomato sauce.

Weekend 9th Sept

Image
I'm behind on posting, but only because the weekend was so good I didn't have a chance. I felt like a new person compared to the weekend before. Enjoyed every minute. We had John's training Sat morning and coffee date after (with John in tow 😉). Then a haircut and Tim pottered with the trailer. The last of the Mastrrs winter runs was in the afternoon with afternoon tea to finish. I enjoy them during the season but am ready for my Sat afternoons back. Tim scootered down and talked with Rob about snorkels and cars.  Marianne popped round for dinner with Eloise whilst Jarrod was at the football. What a little poppet!

Spring

Image
Tim took some morning spring photos of the garden this morning. It's wonderful seeing the new growth and blossoms.

Tree

The tree is gone! I'll take another photo in daylight, but wow! So excited about new projects to tackle out the front. They accidentally snipped a tap line so had to get the plumber out today to fix that, but otherwise happy with job done.

Weekend 2nd Sept

Image
I'm behind in my blogging! The weekend is almost a blur. I ended up with a rotten migraine Sat (although still managed the Masters run before it got really bad). It was such a lovely warm day. John and I rode to the run, it in North Adelaide, a hill every lap blah! Did a heap of baking and cooking when I got home, but then the head got bad. Tim arrived home after a draining day and we said about two words to each other and then crashed to bed at 8.30.  Sunday was better with church and then dinner at Rob/Caths to discuss the Cape York trip. I'm getting excited now it's getting closer, started buying some food and thinking about meals.
