A good day

Today was just great! I felt great. The weather was great! There was no rushing around. I saw my favourite people, especially enjoyed pottering around home whilst Tim worked on the car.

He’s done a fabulous, neat job of the back. The  fridge is in, and some bolts next to it are there so we can secure a board for me serve up lunches on the road.  The front seat is the radio project.  He came in cold and tired tonight.  But hoping the hot Tagine, hot shower and fresh flannelette sheets will warm him up.

So my month of Persia seems have rolled on, maybe it will be a year of Persia. I’m really enjoying this cookbook, and discovering flavours and methods of cooking that I wouldn’t normally do. Well tonight’s meal got a triple tick for deliciousness (and ease as well). A slow cooked Moroccan Tagine, which basically simmered for 5 hours today, fell apart in your mouth. Perfect winters night meal.

I dropped the Hawthorne’s at the airport today for a trip to Melb, isn’t this just the cutiest baby around.

Finn is 6 months old, and happy little fella. I dropped in to see Marianne on Thurs, and it’s exciting to see his motor skills develop. Finding his feet and socks and pulling them off. Waving his arms around and knowing they are his. Poor Marianne is a zombie, sleep deprived state. At least the frequent waking and short sleeps don’t seem to be affecting Finn!

Finally got some photos of the winter garden, be interesting to look back on when spring/summer roll in. Well I hope everything will start to grow. I did the last of the pruning of the fruit trees today.

In front of the front fence I have a Loquat, Mulberry and Fig tree. I’ll plant a couple more further along soon.

And both Sadie and I had outside showers today. Mine earlier on after the Masters run, and hers after tea.

Lauren and the girls popped in tonight for tea. It was great to see Sadie so happy and quite clear in her communication, pulling Lauren or me towards a shower, getting her headphones when she wants them, and other bits here and there. Lauren said she had such a good school report (they are currently in mid year school holidays). So positively phrased and complimentary. Ie Sadie gets her drink bottle out when she is thirsty and helps put her bag away. I baked her favourite almond biscuits so she had a couple to take home with her. Lauren and I were talking about Christmas plans...the year is flying by.
