Cape York Day 12 Musgrave to Wonga Beach (Daintree)
The drive from Musgrave to Laura was pretty bad too. I kept getting excited when I saw bitumen but it often didn’t last long.

Another selfie! With my new cheap sunnies from Bamaga! I couldn’t find my other cheap pair that I bought with me after the ferry trip to Thursday Is, but I know I had them when we got back to the car. I’m also missing my straw hat but I’m sure it’s squashed somewhere in the car!

Laura was a morning tea and fuel stop. I’m still fascinated by the large mango trees that just appear in streets and parks. I’m always trying to savage a couple that have dropped on the ground. Here are some locals doing the same.

Then the country changed again. Through rolling ranges into Mossman. Tim just loved this landscape.
I probably chose the worst lunch spot yet, at a viewing spot but no shade so it was hot.

The WikiCamps app has been fantastic! It’s an iPhone app that people review caravan and camping sites. So as soon as I have mobile service I’ve been researching the next spot. Anyway, I ummed and arr’d over this park or the one at the Daintree and the price difference, but decided on this one as it had a pool, car wash site and slightly closer to Mossman and Port Douglas. It’s called Pinnacle Village and its at Wonga Beach. Oh my goodness!!! Sensational!!! And 15% discount as off season. But so green and lush!!!! Oh quiet (off season). Oh in heaven!!! We’ll probably stay here for the rest of the week and do day trips from here.

The first thing we did once we got in was to wash the trailer. I can’t post the photo Tim took. I stripped down to my knickers and sports bra and used our dustpan brush to scrub the tent with the water. I was covered in red water. It felt amazing to dip in the pool after that.
