Australia Day Long Weekend

Well I didn’t quite meet my aim of a nap each day over the long weekend, but had enough other fun things going on that I didn’t miss them. It was supposed to be three days over 40 degrees but it was really only today (Sun) that was really hot. We planned a long run for Fri morning, the last big one before a Tokyo Marathon, a month away. A few hip/back niggles so wasn’t sure I could do it, but in the end it fell into place with various Henley Runners joining in at different times from Henley Cibo, and coach John watching on. Got home to the new camper trailer out and airing, and Tim and I cleaned the cushions, floors, cupboard etc. Trying to get “their smell” out.

Then we loaded up the skip with our garden waste, and went to Bunnings to hire a Ute. (Not sure if my previous post mentioned that Tim had sold his car). Home with some wood and sleepers (and a cat flap-the highlight of Tims weekend).

Saturday I caught up with Sharon for a long overdue girls chat whilst Tim was at Johns gym. Then we took the Ute to Nathan & Kim’s to pick up a set of 4 tables. Nathan and Kim had moved into a new rental and didn’t have room for them....turns out neither do we! But anyway, their new house is great and Sophie is a happy little girl. Tim dropped me back at my car and I went to hang out with Marianne for a couple of hours. Three weeks in and the happy hormones have left her. A hungry baby leaving her with little sleep and borderline post natal depression.

He is starting to wake up though and it will all be worth it when he gives her a smile in a few weeks time.

Tim went to his new favourite place (not), Northpoint Toyota, to measure up the board for the back of the Fortuna (when it eventually arrives 😉).

Then it was Bunnings again to drop off the Ute, home to move furniture around (to realise that the tables are too big for us), and some relax time...oh and to teach the kitty cat how to get through the cat flap...

Ps Tim’s other favourite purchase for the weekend...the wide brimed $5 Bunnings hat!

Today was a physio appointment (yes on a Sunday!), fruit and vegetables shopping, then off to a fermenting course. I had been so excited about this course after listening to a lot of podcasts about gut health. I’d already started making Kefir water which we both really like and I think has helped my insides. The course was pretty good although a bit too much “raving” and not enough “doing” and time for questions.

I left Tim in this position and felt guilty the whole time that i wasn’t home to help him out! But hopefully his insides will thank me 😉.

A fun rowdy night with Lauren and her girls, plus Eloise turning up. KFC chips in tow which we told Eloise not to tell her Mum about 😉. Marianne did turn up later with Finn to pick her up so it was great to have more family around, with noise and laughs and 2 year old tears when her pjs weren’t packed.
